Ohio State Football — 2019/2020 Regular/Playoff season

**On September 1st Ohio State opened their season with a convincing win over Florida Atlantic 45 to 21

**September 8th saw the Buckeyes opening the shoe with a visiting from the Cincinnati Bears, with Ohio State in a shutout win 42 to 0

**Next up is a road trip to Bloomington to the Indiana Hoosiers. Its overnight for me, I dont get to see it this week. Woke up to great news of a massive Ohio State win 51 to 10

**Miami of Ohio come to The Shoe. It was all over int he second quarter when OSU put 42 points on the board. The final score was 76 to 5. (the score for Miami was a safety in the first quarter, along with a field goal)

**After this weeks games Ohio State is ranked at #5 in the AP poll and #6 in the Coaches poll.

**This weekend the Buckeyes head to Lincoln Nebraska for a game with the Cornhuskers. I get this game in Australia at 9 a.m. Sunday Morning, It was a quiet 4th quarter but Ohio State had already done the damage 48 to 7.

**October 5th saw Michigan State come to the shoe to see if they could upset things, last time the two teams played, MSU scored 9 points, this time they scored 10 points total. Ohio State 34 — 10 MSU

**Ohio State was off this past weekend, they were tied with Georgia at #3. Georgia lost in overtime and was punished in the new poll, falling to #10. Ohio State is sitting at #2 above Bama. (excuse me while I giggle)

**Ohio State head to Northwestern for a rare Friday night game on October 18. I didnt get this game, so I had to rely on Google to get me through. A final score of Ohio State 52 and Northweatern 3. Checking out the polls it moves Ohio State to #3 behind Alabama and Louisiana State. Will be keeping on eye on the LSU Bama game in a couple of weeks. TTUN and Wisconsin both lost, with the Badgers coming to The Show next week, it will be interesting.

**Ohio State welcomed Wisconsin to the show for a wet night of football. It was a no score 1st quarter, Once the Buckeyes started scoring in the second quarter it was on. Ohio State piled on the points with the Badgers being restricted to just 7 points in the 3rd quarter. Final score has Ohio State 38 to Wisconsin 7. buckeyes have another bye before the final run home facing Maryland in Columbus, Rutgers in New Jersey, Penn State (at the time of writing this were undefeated also) in Columbus, before heading to that team up North for a December 1st game

**The Buckeyes traveled to face Rutgers. It was going to be a challenge going away. By halftime it was 35 to 7. Rutgers added 7 more points in the 3rd and 4th quarter. 21 points is the most that the Buckeyes have allowed so far this season. The Bucks piled on another 21 points for a 56 to 21 win. Our final game will be against Penn State. It will be a tough game but with Penn State already with a loss they will be out to play spoiler. Ohio State is sitting on top of the Big Ten East. The Penn State game in the final home game for the Buckeyes before traveling to TTUN

**Ohio State’s final home game of the year was against Penn State. This was going to be OSU’s (in my opinion) first real challenge of the season. Up to half time the buckeye defense had done its job shutting down the Lions offense. The 3rd quarter rattled the buckeyes, silly mistakes allowed Penn State to get within, 7 points. I have no clue what Coach Day said to the boys at 3 quarter time that helped turn the tide. Just 7 more points and a scoreless 4th quarter sealed the deal  with the final score, Ohio State 28 and Penn State 17.

***The Playoff poll has been announced, to my surprise Ohio State has jumped LSU into 1st place. It was the first challenge we have had all year. Lsu won in easy fashion. Alabama is sitting 5th. Will be interesting to see how this plays out.

**Today was the day, the Buckeyes traveled to enemy terrority. TTUN would have a hand in deciding our fiat today, by the end of the 1st quarter its was 14 OSU and 13 TTUN (thanks to a missed extra point). By the main break, OSU had add 14 more points for a 28 to 16 lead. Quarters 2 and 3 the Buckeye defense held the Wolverines to just 6 points (2 field goals).  The buckeye Defense has held teams to UNDER no more than 30 points all season. TTUN only scored 8 points in the final quarter (touchdown, 2 points conversion). Final Score Buckeyes 56 and TTUN 27.

Yes Kids that is a 12 – 0 regular season. Today we celebrate what a great accomplishment. Tomorrow we wait to see who we play in Indianapolis. Wisconsin won over Minnesota so I am not sure who we will face  for the Big Ten Title. Wisconsin with the outright win, heads to Indianapolis to face off against us.

I was cruising with Phil and we were on the Carnival ship Spirit when Ohio State took on Wisconsin. I got a pocket of service to see that the boys had come from behind to win but it wasn’t until we got home that I could check and see what happened. At halftime it was 21 to 7 in Wisconsin’s lead. I would of been pacing the floor if I had seen that. No clue what Coach Day said to the boys to turn things around but Ohio State scored 27 UNANSWERED points in the second half, shutting out the Badgers for a 34 to 21 win, securing our place in the playoffs.

We are off to the Fiesta bowl to play Clemson for the right to move on to the Championship Game in January.
